Ahhhh⦠the Paradox of Leadership: being responsible for having massive impact on your team while simultaneously not being able to control what they do, think, or feel⦠easy, right?!
If you have someone on your team playing a little short of their potential, try asking one (or several) of these questions to help restore their AMBITION:
Action: What action have they been or not been taking that is needed to be successful?
Momentum: Where have they let momentum drop or where was it never built?
Belief: Where are they struggling with belief in themselves, their product or the company?
Intention: Where have they been less intentional than is necessary to hit their goals?
Transformation: Where do they need to seek personal transformation to accomplish their goals?
Impact: What kind of impact do they want to have on their peers/sphere?
Opportunity: Where do they have untapped opportunities?
Never Give Up: What are the ways they can demonstrate resilience/perseverance? Are there areas where they been “quiet quitting” on themselves?
It’s critical that you ask rather than tell. They must acknowledge for themselves both the problem and the solution in order to effectively to move forward.
Don’t worry, you’ve got this. Leadership is easy π

π Book Recommendation: The Slight Edge by Jeff Olsonπ
The Slight Edge reinforces the power of compounding habits. Olson successfully conveys the importance of staying the course of consistency, especially when certain actions are so easy to do, they are just as easy not to do. In over 12 years working with leaders and sales teams, it’s become quite noticeable that for underperformers–nine times out of 10–consistency is lacking; the most basic income producing activities come and go in fits and spurts. The Slight Edge illustrates the cost of that start/stop pattern and the payoff of owning a little forward progress every day. If a team member has lost their AMBITION, The Slight Edge just might be the message that helps them get it back.
